PLATFORM

"I come from a proud Oak Cliff family. I want to work for you. We need to create more living wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety, a top priority.  I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate and get things done." My four main issues are water, poverty, transportation and education.
LIST OF ISSUES
Vision

My campaign is about new ideas, fresh blood, new imaginations and encompassing and inclusive governance. My issues as I see them are 1). ending poverty with contracts, opportunities and jobs; 2) provide clean, green and efficient energy and a healthy environment; 3) end racial profiling within our police department 4) provide quality health care from the cradle to the grave; 5) provide free quality education from pre-school through university 6.) eliminate electronic voter fraud by eliminating the machine.

Economic Development

I've always been an advocate for neighborhood quality of life citywide. This includes attention to businesses,  streets, alleys, parks, trails, and zoning.

As our economy continues to grow, opportunities for development

will also continue to present themselves. We must develop District 830 and make it a tech hub for new high skilled jobs.

We must do away with pay day loans and create banks that will lend to residents of district 30 without high interest rates on quality projects. Other parts of Dallas have grown but district 30 needs major work.  It is critical for neighborhoods and communities to work together to create responsible and sustainable development.

Environment

There is a plan to pollute and harm the southern sector with the McCommas landfill. People die everyday from the 1985 RSR lead poisoning effects of  West dallas which is a Superfund. Fracking fumes cover the early morning hours of the southern sector everyday. People in Sandbranch , 13 miles from downtown Dallas, have been without water for over 30 years and we need new solutions. We need meaningful jobs that protect our natural resources and move us away from the fossil fuel industry to solar, wind and nuclear technologies.

More Federal funding for City & County Services

I will vote for more federal funding for basic city services focusing on providing public safety, trash pickup, code enforcement and infrastructure maintainance in our blighted communities of  District 30  and throughout the city of Dallas.

I will seek out ideas and solutions to our  traffic congestion and work to improve our transportation infastructure system without disenfranchising our citzens in less economically developed communities.

Education

I will support and promote resolutions that strengthens the public school system in  STEM Technology and the Arts in Dallas. A high quality public school system is essential to Democracy and to the prosperity of our nation and its people.

I will hold our school board accountable for favortisim towards its vendors and demand equality in procurement. Because of my career investment in education, my hopes and prayers focus on this issue. We must continue to create the very best climate for effective teaching, successful learning, increased parental involvement and quality Ross Avenue leadership. These goals are imperative as we strive to be the best in 2015.
